Environment

Tides supports environmental organizations and projects that educate and engage the public as well as promote policy action on environmental issues.

Our mission is to grow environmental philanthropy in Canada and work with donors on a range of small and large-scale initiatives.

We:

Key Initiatives:

Climate Change

Tides houses a number of funds and projects that target climate and energy issues and focus on urgent action. We pool ideas, strategies, people, and capital together to achieve the greatest impacts on climate action.

Our Climate Change Solutions Fund is focused on multi-sector dialogue and strategic public education campaigns on global warming.

Tides hosted Take the Lead, the first climate change conference of its kind in Canada that brought together leaders from British Columbia’s business, labour, First Nations, faith, and environmental sectors.

The Great Bear Rainforest

Tides led the Canadian fundraising campaign to preserve and protect British Columbia’s north and central coast, also known as the Great Bear Rainforest.

The protection of the Great Bear Rainforest is considered North America’s largest integrated conservation project and lays the groundwork for future conservation successes around the globe.

Our additional priorities include marine conservation and wilderness protection.
